That is a Yahoo safety measure. If you write a long mail for example and something goes wrong causing a crash, you can go to the drafts folder and you'll find what you have written so far. When you send the mail, the draft should normally be deleted. If you want to save a draft to use it repeatedly, all you have to do is push the shift key when you send your mail. Reply:You can try a back up copy of all your info (export) then open your new stuff and import everything in. You can do this many different ways.

If you are talking a bout folders saved to your computer just take out the floppy disk and put it in your labtop. Your computer might be to old compared to your labtop so might not be able to. Hoh many letters can i save in a betta email folder?

It depends on the size of the emails...how many attachments there are etc. You can save all the way up to the limit of your account. This could be in one folder, or in all of your folders combined.

Click on the "My Photos" link. At the top of the view pane, click the "Message View" link. Find the messages that the photos are attached to (usually ones in the SENT folder are the troublemakers!). DELETE the messages and the photos will go away as well. This is the ONLY way to get rid of them, is to delete the message they are attached to. Same is true of attachments.

When you click on "save as"----you have to tell it where you want it saved to. Usually the "my documents" folder opens and you need to choose from the list of folders there, OR, make a new folder.

Just go next to where it says..."View: All Messages" and click on that sideways triangle tab. it will give you the option to view ONLY unread emails. When you do that, you'll see the unread emails that didn't show up. I have to do that at least once a month.

That is a Yahoo safety measure. If you write a long mail for example and something goes wrong causing a crash, you can go to the drafts folder and you'll find what you have written so far. When you send the mail, the draft should normally be deleted. If you want to save a draft to use it repeatedly, all you have to do is push the shift key when you send your mail. If you send your mail without pushing the shift key and the draft did not get deleted, you should go to this online help form and describe your problem:

If you do not have a not spam button then you can add an e-mail to your white list. A white list is a list that e-mail addresses you add are automatically allowed into your inbox. If I am not mistaking everyone in your contacts is automatically white listed. Add this news letter as one of your contacts and you should get all their mail in your inbox. You can also try sending the message back to your inbox. Sometimes this helps but not all the time if Yahoo marks it as spam.

In Yahoo mail, one button is move message (um, have forgotten) but if you mouse over the button, shows a list of folders you have created.


I haven't had any reason to do this, but I suspect that if you move the newsletter to a folder of things you do want, it will be delivered there in future.

Reply:use WinZip.. it should be on your computer already. Just look at the menus once you open it. Pretty much anything you need to know about any application will be in the drop down menus. It's pretty easy to zip files.

Zip the folder into a zip file or some other type of compressed file. This will allow the recipient to extract the entire folder from the single zip file. If you use Windows XP, you can create a zip file out of a folder by right-clicking on the folder, choose Send To and then Compressed (zipped) folder. Then send the zip file (which will look like a folder with a zipper on it) to your recipient and they will have the folder and all files inside. Plus it is a lot smaller and quicker to send than your folder would be.





(You only need Winzip if you don't use Windows XP, but it's still a good program anyhow.)

As far as i have been able to find out - you cannot forward an entire folder.


The ONLY option is accessing it via POP3 - download the messages - and make one email with all the messages as attachment - and send that to the other account. You will not have them separate - but will have them all on the other account.

If you are using Windows XP or Vista, Windows Explorer, which is like the file manager of Windows, can open a zip file, which is a compressed file to save space. A zip file can include more than one file. When you open this zip file, you will see an option to "Extract all Files". Do this extraction and save it in the folder of your choice.

My Yahoo email inbox folder shows 1 unopened, but none is unopened. How do I fix this?

Yahoo has been having major server issues since at LEAST Jan. 10, seemingly just with particular servers. And what's happening to you (the "phantom" e-mails) is unfortunately one of the many problems that people are having because of them, and Yahoo doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry to solve them. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.


I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since Jan. 10, and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.


Please see my posting from Fri. Jan. 12 under the heading "Anyone having problems of any kind w/Yahoo Mail, PLEASE READ THIS" for more info and on reporting problems to Yahoo.


Since that original posting, they've also sent another e-mail that they've escalated the problem (or should I say problems!) to their engineering department, which is an indication of major problems, and not just a minor S/W "glitch." And again, these problems are not exclusive to Yahoo's Beta, but it does seem to compound the existing problems. This would indicate to me that there are also compatibility issues btwn. the H/W and S/W, besides the server problems.

My first suggestion is to use your ISP, Internet Service Provider mail accounts if you are having problems that can't be corrected by going back to IE6 and Yahoo! Original Mail!!!

You will have less problems with Original Mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger. Or go to My Yahoo and click on your mail link. Or Click on the Big RED Y! on the Yahoo! Toolbar. Bottom line is any link that already has you signed in!!!





There is a Server Farm issue with BETA MAIL.and Original Mail.

AND IF YOU HAVE IE7 or IE8, uninstall it by going to Start Control Panel/Settings and then Add and Remove Programs. Your IE6 is still installed! Try it and if it doesn't solve your problem just SWITCH BACK TO BETA MAIL!

Removing pics from zip in email and storing them to folder in email?

If you are using Windows XP or Vista, Windows Explorer, which is like the file manager of Windows, can open a zip file, which is a compressed file to save space. A zip file can include more than one file. When you open this zip file, you will see an option to "Extract all Files". Do this extraction and save it in the folder of your choice.

My Yahoo email inbox folder shows 1 unopened, but none is unopened. How do I fix this?

Yahoo has been having major server issues since at LEAST Jan. 10, seemingly just with particular servers. And what's happening to you (the "phantom" e-mails) is unfortunately one of the many problems that people are having because of them, and Yahoo doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry to solve them. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.


I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since Jan. 10, and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.


Please see my posting from Fri. Jan. 12 under the heading "Anyone having problems of any kind w/Yahoo Mail, PLEASE READ THIS" for more info and on reporting problems to Yahoo.


Since that original posting, they've also sent another e-mail that they've escalated the problem (or should I say problems!) to their engineering department, which is an indication of major problems, and not just a minor S/W "glitch." And again, these problems are not exclusive to Yahoo's Beta, but it does seem to compound the existing problems. This would indicate to me that there are also compatibility issues btwn. the H/W and S/W, besides the server problems.

These problems have been going on for more than 3 months now. I have answered about 3000 of these questions!!!


BETA MEANS TESTING! It lasts for at least 6 months!!!


NOTE: Use BETA software at your own risk; it is intended for testing and evaluation purposes only. Do not install beta software on your primary computer or production environment. That was from Microsoft help pages.





My first suggestion is to use your ISP, Internet Service Provider mail accounts if you are having problems that can't be corrected by going back to IE6 and Yahoo! Original Mail!!!





TO GET INTO MAIL: for Original and Beta


You will have less problems with Original Mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger. Or go to My Yahoo and click on your mail link. Or Click on the Big RED Y! on the Yahoo! Toolbar. Bottom line is any link that already has you signed in!!!





There is a Server Farm issue with BETA MAIL.and Original Mail.


Listed is the only things that I have found for fixes until testing is over. So, if you don't have BETA MAIL or IE 7 and are having some of the following problems, contact Technical Support: http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/mail/c...

I believe it will solve MOST, MOST, all the problems people are having if you Switch Back (click on switch back on top of your inbox on top by your account) to Original Mail, until it is out of the TESTING STAGE. AND IF YOU HAVE IE7 or IE8, uninstall it by going to Start Control Panel/Settings and then Add and Remove Programs. Your IE6 is still installed! Try it and if it doesn't solve your problem just SWITCH BACK TO BETA MAIL!

You would have to set up a personal "Filter", to re-direct incoming mail (from a designated address), to a separate folder, instead of the inbox.

It's pretty much self explanatory, but basically----you enter the exact address you want to re-direct, on the "from header" line----choose a folder, like spam or trash (or make a new one here)----then click "add filter".
