If I uninstall my Yahoo email then reinstall it, will I loose my present email inbox and folder information?

Recently I tried to load the beta version of Yahoo email, but quickly returned to the regular email design. Now I cannot use the following features: Font style and text size selectors, font color and background selectors, and I can't use the alignment or bullet selectors. Therefore, I am thinking of uninstalling the Yahoo email features completely, then reinstalling them, but I don't want to loose any of the information stored in my "inbox" or designated folders filled with very important information. Can you give me some kind of advise so I can get at least these features back in the regular email, as I really don't want beta format at this time?

I don't know what you mean by "uninstalling" email features. I don't know that that is even possible. Try switching back to Beta and then back again to Classic format and see if the problem resolved itself.

Reply:If you uninstall your email it's gone and you can't open it anymore. Only yahoo can do it anyway. Have you tried logging into it on another PC?

Do I automatically have a junk email folder thru Outlook Express that junk mail goes into. Or do I have to create a junk email folder myself?? One of my friends says he's sending me email...I get some of his emails but not all that he says he's sent. He says that the others must be going into a junk folder. It's NO by default. Outlook Express allows you to access any POP or IMAP email server/service by downloading your email messenges and content onto your computer, and remove the old copy at your account inbox on the email server.





If there are additional folder provided as the part of your email service, Outlook Express cannot gain access to these folder. Example: I can connect to Gmail account using Outlook Express with secured POP access method, however I only able to reach the Gmail Inbox. Any other folders like Spam, Sent Items etc. I would not able to see them. It's a neccesary for me to log on to Gmail website to see these folders' content.





Currently only MSN Hotmail you can get all folders' access through your Outlook Express, because MSN Hotmail's operation is based on Webmail technologies. In this case Outlook Express can sync your PC's account and all email folders with MSN Hotmail at the same time on your finger tips without logging on to the MSN Hotmail website through internet browser.





I believe we have the same issue on Office Outlook 2003 and Mozila Thunderbird email client software too.

sounds like a hacker got into your mail. To keep this from happening again try changing your password about every three months.

Even though it's more likely that you'll find spam in your inbox, occasionally, the situation is reversed and we find GOOD mail in our spam box! That's alright though ... it's an easy fix ... :)

Did I understand you right: you made a folder in your yahoo mail, and this folder is called "international", and you would like to e-mail it to someone? It's not possible, you have to save the information to your computer first, and then send it as attachment.

How can I recover Outlook Express email folders?

I am operating on Windows XP with Outlook Express 6. Recently my PC crashed while my email was downloading from my ISP server. When I rebooted the computer all of my email files were gone and I had to rebuild my Identity just to send and receive email again. I contacted my ISP and they informed me that once the emails were downloaded to my PC they could no longer recover them. Unfortunately I can't find how to recover the lost/corrupet email folders. I do have backups for some of the files but I was travelling for several weeks and doing a massive download of email (500+) when this crash occurred and I lost some important communications. It depends on the size of the emails...how many attachments there are etc. You can save all the way up to the limit of your account. This could be in one folder, or in all of your folders combined.

Click on the "My Photos" link. At the top of the view pane, click the "Message View" link. Find the messages that the photos are attached to (usually ones in the SENT folder are the troublemakers!). DELETE the messages and the photos will go away as well. This is the ONLY way to get rid of them, is to delete the message they are attached to. Same is true of attachments.

That is a Yahoo safety measure. If you write a long mail for example and something goes wrong causing a crash, you can go to the drafts folder and you'll find what you have written so far. When you send the mail, the draft should normally be deleted. If you want to save a draft to use it repeatedly, all you have to do is push the shift key when you send your mail. If you send your mail without pushing the shift key and the draft did not get deleted, you should go to this online help form and describe your problem:

I receive a newsletter that keeps getting sent to the Bulk folder as spam, but it is not spam. I move them to the inbox, but it still keeps receiving this address as spam and I don't have a "Not Spam" button in the Bulk folder. The Spamguard instructions were no help because they told me to select the message and click on the nonexistant "Not Spam" button.

If you do not have a not spam button then you can add an e-mail to your white list. A white list is a list that e-mail addresses you add are automatically allowed into your inbox. If I am not mistaking everyone in your contacts is automatically white listed. Add this news letter as one of your contacts and you should get all their mail in your inbox. You can also try sending the message back to your inbox. Sometimes this helps but not all the time if Yahoo marks it as spam.

In Yahoo mail, one button is move message (um, have forgotten) but if you mouse over the button, shows a list of folders you have created.


I haven't had any reason to do this, but I suspect that if you move the newsletter to a folder of things you do want, it will be delivered there in future.

Reply:use WinZip.. it should be on your computer already. Just look at the menus once you open it. Pretty much anything you need to know about any application will be in the drop down menus. It's pretty easy to zip files.

Zip the folder into a zip file or some other type of compressed file. This will allow the recipient to extract the entire folder from the single zip file. If you use Windows XP, you can create a zip file out of a folder by right-clicking on the folder, choose Send To and then Compressed (zipped) folder. Then send the zip file (which will look like a folder with a zipper on it) to your recipient and they will have the folder and all files inside. Plus it is a lot smaller and quicker to send than your folder would be.





(You only need Winzip if you don't use Windows XP, but it's still a good program anyhow.)
