If I uninstall my Yahoo email then reinstall it, will I loose my present email inbox and folder information?

Recently I tried to load the beta version of Yahoo email, but quickly returned to the regular email design. Now I cannot use the following features: Font style and text size selectors, font color and background selectors, and I can't use the alignment or bullet selectors. Therefore, I am thinking of uninstalling the Yahoo email features completely, then reinstalling them, but I don't want to loose any of the information stored in my "inbox" or designated folders filled with very important information. Can you give me some kind of advise so I can get at least these features back in the regular email, as I really don't want beta format at this time?

I don't know what you mean by "uninstalling" email features. I don't know that that is even possible. Try switching back to Beta and then back again to Classic format and see if the problem resolved itself.

Reply:If you uninstall your email it's gone and you can't open it anymore. Only yahoo can do it anyway. Have you tried logging into it on another PC?

When I log on it says I have an uread email yet when I go to read the email I don't find any unread mail, it indicates that my bulk is empty so where is this email. I'm curious because I had some one send me an e mail which I can not find to read.

I have Outlook Express. Do I automatically have a junk email folder...?

Do I automatically have a junk email folder thru Outlook Express that junk mail goes into. Or do I have to create a junk email folder myself?? One of my friends says he's sending me email...I get some of his emails but not all that he says he's sent. He says that the others must be going into a junk folder. I cannot find anything about a junk email folder in my Outlook Express. Thanks in advance!

It's NO by default. Outlook Express allows you to access any POP or IMAP email server/service by downloading your email messenges and content onto your computer, and remove the old copy at your account inbox on the email server.

If there are additional folder provided as the part of your email service, Outlook Express cannot gain access to these folder. Example: I can connect to Gmail account using Outlook Express with secured POP access method, however I only able to reach the Gmail Inbox. Any other folders like Spam, Sent Items etc. I would not able to see them. It's a neccesary for me to log on to Gmail website to see these folders' content.

Currently only MSN Hotmail you can get all folders' access through your Outlook Express, because MSN Hotmail's operation is based on Webmail technologies. In this case Outlook Express can sync your PC's account and all email folders with MSN Hotmail at the same time on your finger tips without logging on to the MSN Hotmail website through internet browser.

I believe we have the same issue on Office Outlook 2003 and Mozila Thunderbird email client software too.

perhaps some of your friend's emails have bounced or been filtered out by the program, which will automatically prevent junk from finding its way into your inbox. you could try to modify your account such that only true junk is blocked out

You should be able to set your SPAM filter (under options) to do this. Or, you can block their address. Or, you can make a filter that takes all the Yahoo mail and puts it into a separate. All this is available under Options. I use the Filters option to put all my Yahoo Answers stuff into a separate folder, so I know it works.

sounds like a hacker got into your mail. To keep this from happening again try changing your password about every three months.

Even though it's more likely that you'll find spam in your inbox, occasionally, the situation is reversed and we find GOOD mail in our spam box! That's alright though ... it's an easy fix ... :)

Just add the e-mail address to your Yahoo Address Book ... and after you do this, any e-mail from that address will no longer go into your spam folder.

Yes. Right-click on the folder and convert it to a .zip archive, then send the archive.
Reply:Typically - NO. You can however "zip" a folder or directory into a single achive or ".zip file" and attach that file.

Programs like WinZip or PKZip have been around for years to accomplish this.

It is important to note that some email anti-virus gateways require any archived file NOT be password protected so that files containing a virus within an archive can be scanned for and blocked.

By default, a password protected .zip file will be blocked or deleted by some of these anti-virus engines.

Likewise, if you have an antivirus program, "scan inside archives" should always be selected as a default to protect you against viruses which have been zipped into an archive.

A second benefit to zipping a directory other than ease of multiple file attachments, is that .zip files have various algorithms which compress out unneccesary space within the files. Text files and word processing type documents compress the most. Pictures are generally already in a compressed format, and do not generally benefit in size reduction from compression. An archive still is however an easy way to send a single file with multiple pictures included.

Did I understand you right: you made a folder in your yahoo mail, and this folder is called "international", and you would like to e-mail it to someone? It's not possible, you have to save the information to your computer first, and then send it as attachment.

No, if it has been deleted from the bulk folder it is gone forever. Messages deleted from the bulk folder don't go to the trash folder.

How can I recover Outlook Express email folders?

I am operating on Windows XP with Outlook Express 6. Recently my PC crashed while my email was downloading from my ISP server. When I rebooted the computer all of my email files were gone and I had to rebuild my Identity just to send and receive email again. I contacted my ISP and they informed me that once the emails were downloaded to my PC they could no longer recover them. Unfortunately I can't find how to recover the lost/corrupet email folders. No you have to select attach on your email page and then you have to go to the folder the pictures are in and select picture you want to email. Click on the picture. Then you select upload and you should be good to go.

That is a Yahoo safety measure. If you write a long mail for example and something goes wrong causing a crash, you can go to the drafts folder and you'll find what you have written so far. When you send the mail, the draft should normally be deleted. If you want to save a draft to use it repeatedly, all you have to do is push the shift key when you send your mail. If you send your mail without pushing the shift key and the draft did not get deleted, you should go to this online help form and describe your problem:

Outlook uses a main file that is only accessible by Outlook. You can not extract email from that file. To find that file open Outlook, under the File menu click on Data File Management. Once that window opens highlight your file and click Open Folder. This will get you access to the file.

You can also Export you email to a file. That may be what you need to do. You will find this under the File menu, click on Import and Export. You will want to Export to a file. Then choose the file type, and choose the folder you want exported. That should work.

Reply:You can try a back up copy of all your info (export) then open your new stuff and import everything in. You can do this many different ways.
Reply:Create a new folder for the contacts you want to export.

On the File menu, point to New, and then click Folder.

Type a name for the folder.

In the Folder contains list, click Appointment Items.

In the Select where to place the folder list, click Calendar, and then click OK.

On the Outlook Bar, click Contacts, or click another private or public contacts folder that you want to copy information from.

To copy the contacts, press and hold down CTRL and drag the contacts you want from the Contacts folder you just clicked to the new contacts folder you just created.

On the File menu, click Import and Export to export the new contacts folder.

Click Export to a file, and then click Next.

In the list, click the file type you want to export to and then click Next.

Follow the instructions in the Import and Export Wizard.

If you are talking a bout folders saved to your computer just take out the floppy disk and put it in your labtop. Your computer might be to old compared to your labtop so might not be able to. Your email address exists in other users address books, you've entered it to access information on websites, and it could be on one of those "fun" emails your friends sent with 30 other email addresses.

I've given examples of how your email is available for "harvesting" by spammers. They may use it once and never again, to send thousands of emails for malicous or ad-related causes. Spammers may sell your email as part of a list for other spammer's use. http://antispam.yahoo.com/tips

Spamguard is working correctly. The system knows you would not send spam to yourself and moved it to the spam folder. You don't need to "unblock". You are protected.

It depends on the size of the emails...how many attachments there are etc. You can save all the way up to the limit of your account. This could be in one folder, or in all of your folders combined.

In Advanced Search you can choose which folders to search in.

Click on the "My Photos" link. At the top of the view pane, click the "Message View" link. Find the messages that the photos are attached to (usually ones in the SENT folder are the troublemakers!). DELETE the messages and the photos will go away as well. This is the ONLY way to get rid of them, is to delete the message they are attached to. Same is true of attachments.

When you click on "save as"----you have to tell it where you want it saved to. Usually the "my documents" folder opens and you need to choose from the list of folders there, OR, make a new folder.

Only the mail you were in at the time will be saved.

If you didn't do any of that-----then nothing has been saved. Try again.

the problem is that you read them on the web, move them to a folder ... and they're already read! So you don't get notification.

I have no idea why that happens, but it happens all the time with me. Just go next to where it says..."View: All Messages" and click on that sideways triangle tab. it will give you the option to view ONLY unread emails. When you do that, you'll see the unread emails that didn't show up. I have to do that at least once a month.

That is a Yahoo safety measure. If you write a long mail for example and something goes wrong causing a crash, you can go to the drafts folder and you'll find what you have written so far. When you send the mail, the draft should normally be deleted. If you want to save a draft to use it repeatedly, all you have to do is push the shift key when you send your mail. If you send your mail without pushing the shift key and the draft did not get deleted, you should go to this online help form and describe your problem:

I receive a newsletter that keeps getting sent to the Bulk folder as spam, but it is not spam. If you do not have a not spam button then you can add an e-mail to your white list. A white list is a list that e-mail addresses you add are automatically allowed into your inbox. If I am not mistaking everyone in your contacts is automatically white listed. Add this news letter as one of your contacts and you should get all their mail in your inbox. You can also try sending the message back to your inbox. Sometimes this helps but not all the time if Yahoo marks it as spam.

In Yahoo mail, one button is move message (um, have forgotten) but if you mouse over the button, shows a list of folders you have created.

I haven't had any reason to do this, but I suspect that if you move the newsletter to a folder of things you do want, it will be delivered there in future.

Reply:use WinZip.. it should be on your computer already. Just look at the menus once you open it. Pretty much anything you need to know about any application will be in the drop down menus. It's pretty easy to zip files.

Zip the folder into a zip file or some other type of compressed file. This will allow the recipient to extract the entire folder from the single zip file. If you use Windows XP, you can create a zip file out of a folder by right-clicking on the folder, choose Send To and then Compressed (zipped) folder. Then send the zip file (which will look like a folder with a zipper on it) to your recipient and they will have the folder and all files inside. Plus it is a lot smaller and quicker to send than your folder would be.

(You only need Winzip if you don't use Windows XP, but it's still a good program anyhow.)

If you are using Windows, the easiest format will be a ZIP archive, which you can create using a program such as WinZip or PKZip.For Linux, a so-called "tarball" is the most common format (an archive produced by compressing a tar(1) archive with gzip(1)), although Linux can handle ZIP archives, too. For Mac, there is a native archive format, which I cannot remember the name of, but I think there are Mac tools to handle ZIP and tarball archives, too.
