Why do I find emails in my Spam folder from my own email address? And how can I stop them?

It's called "spoofing".

Spoofing is the "forgery" of an address, to hide the identity of the sender, and is usually done by an Automatic Spamming system, that blindly and randomly, runs through addresses in sequence.

It's not actually coming from or thru your account.

One type that's called "Self Spamming"--(go figure)--appears to be coming "from" and going "to" the same address.

Anti-spam experts say----There's nothing you can do, except delete them. They are a nuisance, but harmless and don't last long.

Don't spam them--you'd only be spamming your own address.

It isn't from your email they are just using the subject line and putting your address in there, e.g. it might read - Please read this - or Important look at this, so they just put your address in so it looks like it's from you so you'll open it, don't IT'S SPAM.

In the yahoo e mails when you are looking at the spam you will see a button for "NOT SPAM" Highlight the mail that you want and mark it for that.
Reply:I've had them too, I don't know how they manage to send an email to us supposedly from our own email addresses but they are spammers. If they're in the spam file already just delete them, if they're in your inbox mark them as spam.
